Five persons were killed and six others injured when a wall of a building under construction collapsed in Mumbai's suburban Andheri on Sunday.
"We have removed 11 people from the debris and five of them have died," Mumbai chief fire officer A K Jhandwal told reporters.
All the 11 were rushed to the nearby R N Cooper hospital, Jhandwal said adding it is believed there are no more people trapped under the debris.
Fire brigade sources had earlier stated that over 30 people might be trapped under the debris.
Only the retaining wall had collapsed and not the building as reported in some television channels, Jhandwal said.
Mumbai Mayor Datta Dalvi said an inquiry would be conducted into the incident and stringent action would be initiated against the erring officials.
