Claiming it to be the first ever video pictures of India's most wanted terrorist Dawood Ibrahim, news channel India TV Wednesday showed him with film actor and Congress member of Parliament Govinda, but it was not clear when the footage was shot.
It was also not clear where the video was shot, but a much younger Govinda could be seen with an equally younger Ibrahim at what looks like the inauguration of a shop.
Leading filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, who was in the studio of the news channel watching the video as it was telecast, said the pictures could have been shot before 1993 because another Mumbai underworld don and Ibrahim were being shown together.
Ibrahim, wanted in India for many terrorist acts including the serial blasts in Mumbai in 1993, shifted his base to Dubai and later to Karachi in Pakistan.
Chhota Rajan, another underworld don, had later fallen out with Ibrahim. The video also showed Ibrahim's brothers Noora and Anees Ibrahim and other underworld dons Chotta Shakeel and Abu Salem.
The video had been provided to India TV by one of its viewers, the channel's Editor-in-Chief Rajat Sharma said.
