An 18-month-old girl has been pulled out alive by rescuers from the rubble in a remote village in quake-hit Pakistan, six days after the deadly tremor hit the region.
The toddler was rescued on Friday by a team of Pakistani emergency workers that trudged 11 kms to reach the village in Balimang in North West Frontier Province, when other rescue teams were slowly moving out, reports said.
Villagers took the team to a spot where they believed people were still buried alive.
The toddler was pulled out, unconscious, from beneath a door in the rubble and the bodies of her mother and brothers were found lying nearby, reports said. Her father, Mohammed Afzal, however, survived the quake.
About 25,000 people have lost their lives in a 7.6 magnitude strong quake that hit Pakistan and PoK on Saturday last.
