Around 30 to 40 people have migrated from one village to another in Gool tehsil of Udhampur district following militant threats, official sources said on Friday.
They migrated from Gambiri village to Sangalda village over the last two days, after being threatened by ultras moving in the area, the sources said.
The families of those who have shifted to Sangaldan include Aijaz Ahmed Ganai, Tariq Ganai, Mohammad Rafiq, Abdul Hamid, Ghulam Hassan, Mohammad Ishaq, Kudus Gujjar and Ghulam Ali, they said, adding these also include families of two teachers and one shopkeeper.
Most of the migrated families have taken shelter with their relatives at Sangaldan.
Hizbul Mujaheedin militants had killed two civilians in the area on September 19. Later, Lashker-e-Toiba ultras had shot dead three civilians in the area on October five, the sources said.
