More than 200 defence personnel of Pakistan have died in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in the October 8 quake, a senior official at the Pakistan High Commissioner's office in New Delhi said on Tuesday.
He said apart form the soldiers, heavy casualty has also been reported in their families who were based in Muzzaffarbad.
This has affected the rescue and relief operation too, the official said.
However, in spite of this, roads of the most part of their side of Kashmir became functional within three days.
He said rescue work is affected also because of the peculiar geography of the area, which is hilly with valleys and large numbers of small and medium-sized streams.
