After convicting them under various sections, Judge Sanjay Prasad said sentences would be pronounced on Thursday. There were altogether twelve accused in the case. The CBI has dropped the names of two persons following their death.

The then regional director; AHD, Dumka, Sheshmuni Ram; touring vetrinary officers - Shash Sinha and Krishna Murari Shah - and the then assistant scrutiny clerk of Godda treasury, Bhanukar Dubey, were prominent among the convicts. Sanjay Kumar, Sushil Jha, Gopal Nath Das, Mahendra Das, Saraswati Chandra, Brajbhusan Prasad, were the others.
They were attached to different professions including supply, distribution and pharmacy. It was the seventh conviction till date by different CBI courts in connection with the multi-crore fodder scam, taking the total number of convicts to forty with some convicted in more than one case.
According to CBI sources, three cases are in their final stages. The agency had filed a total of 60 cases after the scam unfolded during undivided Bihar. A total of 53 cases remained in Ranchi after the bifurcation while seven shifted to Patna. A couple of cases were closed on different grounds.
