Special court allows Monica, uncle to meet in jail
A Special Central Bureau of Investigation court on Wednesday allowed paternal uncle of Monica Bedi [ Images ], girlfriend of underworld don Abu Salem [ Images ], to meet her Thursday if she wanted to.
After hearing a petition by Bedi's uncle Purushotham Lal Bedi, through a Delhi-based lawyer, CBI Judge C V Subramanyam directed the Chanchalguda Jail Superintendent to allow him to meet Bedi before 10:30 AM on Thursday if she was willing.
The court on Tuesday had disallowed an application of lawyer Ruchir Batra seeking permission to allow Bedi's uncle, who arrived from Hoshiarpur in Punjab [ Images ], to meet her. Bedi is in judicial remand till November 25 and she is lodged in Chanchalguda jail in Hyderabad on charges of a passport forgery case.
