A note written in English was found pinned to the body of M R Kutty, the Indian driver who was abducted and killed by the Taliban in Afghanistan.
"We found a piece of paper pinned to the body. It's in English so we cannot read it now," Mohammed Hashim Noorzai, a district governor in Afghanistan's volatile southwestern province of Nimroz, was quoted as saying by AFP. "The Minister of the Interior has ordered us to transfer the body to the Indian consulate in Kandahar."
Five days after his abduction by Taliban, the slaughtered body of 36-year-old Kutty, a driver with Border Roads Organisation, was found dumped by the roadside in Delaram district of Nimroz on Wednesday, Governor of Khashroad Mohd Hashim Noorzai, was quoted as saying in Kandahar.
A purported Taliban spokesman had said on Tuesday that Kutty was killed as there had been no response to a 48-hour deadline issued by the group for BRO to leave Afghanistan. The Indian embassy in Afghanistan said they had never been contacted by Taliban.
