It's a win over jungle raj, says Sushil Modi

Sushil Kumar [ Images ] Modi, president of the Bihar unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party [ Images ] has described the Bihar election result as a "historic win over jungle raj".
 
Modi, who had been watching the results unfold on television at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi [ Images ] since the morning, is confident the Janata Dal-United-BJP combine's tally will cross the 140-mark.

"The results are very much according to our expectations and we will definitely cross 140. A part of this credit should go to the misrule of Mr Buta Singh," Modi told rediff.com soon after the results were announced.

A delighted Modi emerged from his room only after the combine's lead had crossed the 136-figure mark.

He, however, refused to say if the new government headed by the JD-U's Nitish Kumar will have a deputy chief minister.

Surprisingly, the BJP's central leadership had not shown up at the party headquarters till 11 am.
