National Democratic Alliance's chief ministerial candidate in Bihar Nitish Kumar on Tuesday said he will stake claim on Wednesday to form government in Bihar.
The NDA got a simple majority in the 243-member assembly, claiming 146 seats.
"I will meet the Bihar governor tomorrow evening to stake claim to form the NDA Government," he told reporters after a meeting of Janata Dal-United and Bharatiya Janata Party leaders at the residence of JD-U's Parliamentary Board Chairman Sharad Yadav.
Kumar said the JD-U and BJP legislators will first meet in Patna separately and then hold a joint meeting before going to meet the governor.
He is expected to be elected leader of the joint legislative party.
The swearing-in will take place on Thursday afternoon, Kumar said.
