Admitting that people voted for a change in political leadership in Bihar, Communist Party of India-Marxist Tuesday held the Third Front led by Ram Vilas Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party responsible for the poor showing of "secular" forces in the assembly elections.

"Yes, the division in the secular vote has benefited the communal forces," CPI-M leader Sitaram Yechury told reporters as the poll results trickled in indicating a mandate in favour of the National Democratic Alliance.

"The people in Bihar have chosen for a change in political leadership. The results clearly point to that," he said maintaining, however, that the outcome would have no repurcussions on the Central government.

Nontheless, there was bound to be some discussion within the United Progressive Alliance as alliance partners were pitted against each other, he said adding, that the party would do a detailed analysis of the election once all the results were out.
