Monica Bedi, starlet wife of underworld don Abu Salem, was again sent to judicial custody on Saturday after the Central Bureau of Investigation interrogated her in connection with the forged passport case.

Amidst tight security, the CBI officials brought Monica Bedi to the special CBI court at 3 pm as per the directions of the judge at the end of her two-day custody of the premier investigating agency, which is probing the passport forgery case.

In the court, her handwriting and specimen signatures were obtained by the prosecution in the presence of the judge.

Earlier, the CBI had filed an application seeking permission to take her handwriting and specimen signatures to compare them with the original passport application and also the passport. Accordingly, the court had permitted the prosecution to obtain her specimen signatures.

The counsel for the accused Owais Siddiqui prayed before the court seeking permission to speak to his client for five minutes. The court granted permission and advised him that there was a procedure to meet the client even in the jail as per the jail manual.

She was again shifted back to Chanchalguda women prison as the court had earlier ordered her judicial remand till November 25.
