In a minor reshuffle of portfolio following resignation of Ghulam Nabi Azad, who will be sworn in as Jammu and Kashmir's chief minister on Wednesday, from Union cabinet, Water Resources Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi has been given the additional charge of Parliamentary Affairs Ministry which Azad had held.

"The President has been pleased to accept, on the Prime Minister's recommendation, the resignation of Ghulam Nabi Azad, Minister of Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs, from the Council of Ministers, with immediate effect," a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique said.

It said the President has directed that the Parliamentary Affairs Ministry portfolio be assigned to Dasmunsi in addition to his current portfolio. Dasmunsi had been the chief whip of Congress in the Lok Sabha.
