A public interest litigation was filed on Monday in the Supreme Court challenging dissolution of the Bihar assembly and seeking a stay on the election process till hearing of the petition.
The plea, seeking quashing of the government notification to dissolve the Bihar Assembly, was filed by Shivkumar Prasad Singh. Singh had unsuccessfully contested the assembly elections in March 2005.
BJP, which had said it would challenge the notification in the apex court, is likely to move the Supreme Court on Tuesday.
