Tamil Nadu police on Thursday filed at a Chennai court charge sheets against former chief minister M Karunanidhi, his son and former mayor M K Stalin and 13 others in connection with alleged irregularities in the construction of nine flyovers during the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam rule in 1996-2001.
According to police sources, the charge sheet has been submitted by the Crime Branch-Criminal Investigation Department to be taken up by the court at an appropriate time.
The Crime Branch-CID filed a first information report on June 29, 2001 against Karunanidhi, Stalin, former ministers Ko Si Mani, Ponmudi and 11 others alleging certain irregularities in the construction of the flyovers in the city.
