Under fire from theĀ National Democratic AllianceĀ on the dissolution of the Bihar assembly, Governor Buta Singh said on Wednesday that he acted in accordance with the Constitution and would initiate action against those involved in horsetrading on receipt of specific complaints.

"I recommended the dissolution of the state assembly after taking into consideration all the legal aspects, including Supreme Court judgements and the Sarkaria Commission report on Centre-State relations. The NDA leaders are free to move court against my decision, but I am sure that I have not erred as I had definite information about horsetrading of the worst kind to form a government in Bihar," he told a press conference in Patna.

Singh said he would initiate action against those involved in the horsetrading if specific complaints were received by him.

NDA plans rally for Buta's reacall

"I do not want to react to their diatribe," the governor said referring to the remarks of NDA leaders on the dissolution of Bihar assembly.

Even Prime Minister Manmohan Singh justified the dissolution of the Bihar assembly by saying the Centre was left with no choice but to recommend the dissolution of the House due to large scale horsetrading.
