Bibi Jagir Kaur, president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak committee, has appealed to the Centre and all state governments not to allow screening of the film Jo Bole So Nihal until all objectionable scenes as suggested by the SGPC are deleted.

She termed the twin blasts in the two Delhi cinema halls on Sunday as a conspiracy hatched by some Congress-backed elements, who have been resorting to such activities in the past as well to defame the Sikhs.

Speaking to rediff.com Jagir Kaur said she would soon lead a delegation of SGPC officials and meet Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and urge him to ensure that the makers of the film do not play with the sentiments of Sikhs.

"This film has hurt the sentiments of the Sikhs. The producers deliberately used the religious slogan Jo Bole So Nihal with an eye to exploit the situation. We had protested against the film and it was taken off the cinema halls in Punjab. The other governments should have also done the same," she said.

Jagir Kaur also condemned the blasts.

"It is certainly not our intention to cause monetary losses to the producers of the film but they should refrain from playing with the sentiments of the Sikhs. This community has been the target of attack in the past and yet another attempt is being made to malign the Sikhs," she said.
