Punjab and Haryana high court on Monday declined to stay the screening of Hindi film 'Jo Bole So Nihal'.

A division bench comprising of Chief Justice D K Jain and Justice Hemant Gupta declined to stay the screening of the
Sunny Deol starrer on a petition filed by a member of the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee Hardeep Singh.

Singh had sought the stay on the screening of the movie claiming it was "damaging to the Sikh psyche."

The name of the movie and some objectionable scenes should be deleted, Singh had demanded in his petition.

The bench posted the matter for July 7.

The SGPC member said the title of the film should be changed in view of "historical aspects and traditions of Sikhism."

Singh said the SGPC should now approach the Supreme Court to demand a ban on the film, which had been withdrawn from theatres in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh.
