A three-member Bench of the Patna high court on Monday began the hearing of Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav [ Images ] and his wife, former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi's petition challenging the sanction for their prosecution in a disproportionate assets case, an offshoot of the multi-crore fodder scam.
The Bench was constituted last week by the acting chief justice of Patna high court, Justice Nagendra Rai, for day-to-day hearing from Monday for the expeditious disposal of the case.
The Bench comprises Justice Ram Nandan Prasad, Justice Barin Ghosh and Justice M L Visa.
As per the Supreme Court order, the verdict on the petition must be delivered before the court closes for the summer vacation starting May 21.
