The Bharatiya Janata Party disagreed with the Telugu Desam Party's "assessment" that relations with it and the Gujarat violence had a "negative" impact on last year's assembly polls.
"We don't agree with that view point and assessment. Some people in our party are of the opinion that the anti-incumbency factor in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh affected our performance in the Lok Sabha elections," party vice-president M Venkaiah Naidu said.
TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday said that alliance with the BJP cost his party its minority vote bank.
The TDP also distanced itself from the National Democratic Alliance, during the latter's boycott of Parliament.
