Union agriculture minister and chief of the ruling Nationalist Congress Party in Maharashtra, Sharad Pawar, has reportedly opined that free power to farmers be scrapped to tide over the burgeoning power crisis in the state.
Pawar was speaking to a TV news channel in Pune on Sunday.
He said the Maharashtra government would have to take full responsibility for the power shortage in the state.
Pawar was in Pune to inaugurate a power plant.
