A paramilitary Border Security Force trooper shot his guard commander and later ended his life at Bandipore in north Kashmir's Baramulla district late on Saturday night.
Following an altercation, the BSF trooper Narinder Kumar pumped bullets from his automatic weapon into guard commander P.K.Goswami inside their battalion headquarters.
Goswami succumbed to his bullet wounds before he could be shifted to a hospital. The late night shooting inside the camp triggered panic as soldiers took positions.
Narinder Kumar later fired a sharp burst at himself using his service rifle and died on the spot.
