Mumbai police seized pirated copies of Shobhaa De's latest book Spouse: The Truth About Marriage in a raid conducted at various places in the city on Tuesday.

The book is scheduled to be launched in Mumbai on March 7. It was launched in Delhi on February 14. It talks about marital relationships and their importance and provides tips on how to keep them healthy.

The police conducted raids at Veer Nariman Road, Ramdev Poddhar Chowk and Marine Lines areas of south Mumbai on the basis of a complaint filed by Penguin Books India, the publisher of book. They seized 28 pirated copies and arrested Mumtaz Ali and Zahir Patel under the Copyright Act for selling the copies.

In such cases it is not possible to trace the person actually responsible for the crime, because the sellers don't know who is behind it, Social Service Branch Senior Police Inspector A B Deshpande said. He said the pirated version of the book was printed in Delhi.
