The United States has praised Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf's cooperation in the war on terror, saying he "recognises the importance of going after terrorists and bringing them to justice before they can do harm."

Asked whether the US is getting 100 per cent cooperation from the country or countries that CIA Director Porter Goss believes bin Laden is hiding in, White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan said, "Musharraf recognises the importance of going after those terrorists and bringing them to justice before they can do harm."

CIA Director Porter Goss has recently said that he has a pretty good idea that Osama bin Ladin is still in the Pakistan-Afghanistan frontier area.

"Pakistan understands the importance of staying on the offensive and going after the terrorists to disrupt plots and prevent them from carrying out attacks," McClellan said.

"We appreciate the work that Pakistan is doing with us in the global war on terrorism.
