Police on Thursday arrested a man after he allegedly stripped a teenager and paraded her naked in a village square as punishment for her brother's suspected affair with his wife.
The suspect Mohammed Yousaf, 38, and six of his friends snatched a 19-year-old woman and her 12-year-old sister on Wednesday from their home, said police officer Khalid Dogar.
Yousaf stripped the 19-year-old, beat her with a shoe and paraded her for 20 minutes through the square of farming village Chak 41EB, Dogar said.
Yousaf fled with his friends, firing his pistol in the air when villagers intervened, but all seven men were arrested hours later.
The men face life imprisonment or the maximum death penalty if they are convicted on charges of insulting a woman in public.
