Hizbul Mujahideen posters on Tuesday threatening to attack the famous Raghunath temple in Jammu and eliminate Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bharatiya Janata Party leaders have prompted the police to tighten security in the city.
"We do not want to take chances," officials said, adding that a red alert has been sounded in the city.
Two bundles of posters, printed in Urdu, threatening to eliminate former Union minister of state for defence Chaman Lal Gupta, state BJP president Nirmal Singh and state VHP chief Ramakant Dubey were found in Shalamar area on Tuesday, they said.
The police are trying to find out where the posters had been printed and four suspects have been questioned.
