Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will visit Siachen, the world's highest battlefield, on June 12.
This is the first time that an Indian prime minister is visiting the inhospitable glacier, sources said on Wednesday.
During his visit to Siachen, Dr Singh will address the jawans guarding the borders under sub-zero conditions.
Singh will visit Leh in Jammu and Kashmir for two days on June 10 and 11 and would attend the annual Sindhu Darshan festival.
