Srinagar attack: Securitymen kill 2 militants

Sharpshooters of the security forces have shot dead both fidayeens who were holed up in a hotel and a shopping complex at the city centre in Lal Chowk, Srinagar [ Images ] after an encounter that lasted 24 hours.

The attack by militants on Friday left two security men dead and 25 others injured.

Earlier on Saturday afternoon, secuirty forces had shot dead the fidayeen who was holed up in a shopping complex at the city centre in Lal Chowk, Srinagar.

"The operation has ended," said a senior police officer.

Several people including some tourists trapped in two hotels in the city centre were rescued.
