Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has assured all help to Mumbai to tide over the situation caused by incessant rains, the heaviest witnessed by the megapolis in a century.
Dr Singh gave the assurance to Mumbai Regional Congress Committee president and member of Parliament Gurudas Kamat, who submitted him a memorandum on Wednesday pleading for maximum possible assistance to the economic capital of the country.
Kamat, who will be accompanying Dr Singh during his visit to the affected areas of Maharashtra including Mumbai later on Thursday, told PTI that he also presented a memorandum to Congress president Sonia Gandhi about the devastation caused by the rains in the city and its suburbs.
