An Election Commission team headed by its advisor K J Rao is visiting Bihar from Tuesday to review the poll preparations and other arrangements in view of the next assembly polls due before the end of 2005.

Officials sources said the eight-member EC team headed by Rao arrived in Patna on Tuesday and  will begin reviewing the poll preparations.

The EC team would be split into four separate teams that would visit districts for five days to review the ongoing  work of preparing photo identity cards and revision of electoral rolls.

Besides, the team will  look into the electoral offences pending against some people and defacement of public properties.

The EC team will also review the law and order situation and hold discussions with top officials of state administration.
