The British police said they carried out several controlled explosions on Sunday to neutralise a suspect package found in northwest London.
The package had been found in some bushes in the Little Wormwood Scrubs neighborhood on Saturday. London's Metroplitan police said the item may have been linked to the devices used in Thursday's botched bombings on three subway trains and a double-decker bus.
Police said in a statement that 'a number of controlled explosions' were carried out on Sunday morning and an item was taken away for further examination. Officers said searches at the site were continuing, but gave no details of what the package contained.
