Asserting that protocol should be followed, the Centre on Saturday said it's "doors are open" for dialogue on the Kashmir issue and New Delhi will soon fix dates for the next round of talks with the Hurriyat Conference.

The Centre was "ready to hold talks... We have said time and again that our doors are open for anybody and everybody who wants peace and normalcy to return in Jammu and Kashmir," Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal told reporters while ending his two-day visit to the Valley.

"We will soon fix dates for talks with the Hurriyat Conference," he said but added that the moderate faction of the Hurriyat led by Mirwaiz Umer Farooq should convey their desire to the Centre for resuming the dialogue process through the proper channel, he said.

"There is a difference between expressing desire to continue talks through public statements and conveying the same through authentic means," the minister said.

On the recent spurt in militant attacks, Jaiswal said these were manifestations of their "desperation and frustration" as they did not want peace to return but the "peace process is moving forward".
