Police have moved a Siwan court to issue of non-bailable arrest warrants against Rashtriya Janata Dal member of Parliament Mohammed Shahabuddin in three separate criminal cases.
On Friday, the investigating officer of the case, Ranvijay Singh prayed for warrants of arrest against Shahabuddin and others in the court of the chief judicial magistrate.
He also sought the court's approval for prosecuting Shahabuddin on charges of sedition in connection with the recovery of telescopic rifles, foreign currency, Pakistani cartridges and a bullet-proof jacket during raids on his ancestral house at Pratappur in the district on April 24.
Singh, who has also sought an arrest warrant against the MP under the Arms Act, also filed a petition for a warrant of arrest against Munshi Mian, another accused in the case involving the recovery of firearms and cartridges.
