A Mumbai court on Friday extended till July 22 the judicial custody of dismissed police constable Sunil More, who has been booked in the sensational Marine Drive rape case.
More had applied for bail on Friday, but the court posted the matter till July 14 as the prosecution sought time to file a reply.
Meanwhile, More has also filed an application before the court alleging that members of the Vigilance Squad from Pune,
which had come for inspection of the Arthur Road Jail -- where he is presently lodged -- assaulted him on June 3.
He further alleged that he complained about the assault to the jailor and the deputy inspector general (prisons), but no action was taken so far.
More, a constable posted at the Marine Drive police station in south Mumbai, was held on charges of allegedly raping a
minor girl on April 21 inside a police chowky located at Marine Drive. He was subsequently dismissed from service.
