Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil accompanied by top officials of his ministry and Intelligence Bureau will visit Ayodhya on Wednesday afternoon and inspect the site where the Central Reserve Police Force killed five terrorists, who on Tuesday tried to storm the makeshift temple of Ramlala.
Home Secretary V K Duggal, Intelligence Bureau Director E S L Narasimhan and Internal Security Special Secretary Anil Chaudhary will accompany Patil during the visit.
Senior CRPF officials will brief Patil about the incident and how the security personnel foiled the attack.
Patil is also expected to visit the hospital where the injured are undergoing treatment. Two of the three injured CRPF personnel have been shifted to Lucknow for treatment.
Interestingly, Salman Khurshid, Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee president is expected to be on board with Patil on the special aircraft.
Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party president Lal Kishenchand Advani has postponed his visit to Ayodhya for the time being.
He will wait for the report from his two senior leaders Kalyan Singh and Rajnath Singh, who are already in UP.
In the capital, the Delhi police have geared up to deal with the demonstrations by the BJP and Vishwa Hindu Parishad, who are protesting against the attack on Ayodhya.
Security in religious places has been stepped up in view of enhanced terrorist threat inputs received from intelligence agencies.
