The plea will be heard on Wednesday by Principal Sessions Judge T V Ganesh.

The case relates to an assault on a temple priest, Tirukoshtiyur Mahadevan, in the city about two years ago. The petition was to be heard later on Tuesday.

The Supreme Court on Monday granted the seer bail in the Sankararaman murder case with a direction that he will not enter the Kanchi mutt till investigations in the case are over and a charge sheet is filed.

The Shankaracharya had obtained bail from the Madras high court on January 3 in another case relating to an assault on a temple official on September 20, 2002.
