A member of the elite Special Operations Group was killed and three others injured on Saturday morning in the resumed security forces operations against a militant holed up in an office building in Srinagar.

So far, five persons -- four security personnel and a suicide attacker -- have been killed in the nearly 19-hour gun battle in the heart of capital Srinagar.
Border Security Force Deputy Commandant S S Rawat succumbed to his neck injury in the army base hospital late Friday night.
An SOG crack team, which tried to enter the building at Barbarshah this morning, came under heavy fire from the militant. An SOG member, identified as Mohammad Ashraf, was hit and he died on the spot. Three SOG personnel injured in the firing are undergoing treatment.
"We have tightened the cordon around the building and one militant is still holding out. Security forces yesterday shot dead one of the two militants," said a police officer.
Nearly 70 employees and visitors were safely evacuated by the police and security forces from the office complex when the militants struck on Friday afternoon.
