The devastation caused by the killer tsunamis of last month in Andaman and Nicobar Islands will now be the subject of a film.

Scouring relief camps and listening to the survivors' accounts, film-maker Mukeswar Lal says he is looking for the right story to portray the enormity of the tsunami fury.

''There is this man who performed the last rites of his wife alongside his daughter, whose body he recovered minus the gold ornament and surprisingly in clothes different from what she was wearing when the waves caught her. Such stories have been stirring me from within," Lal told PTI.

The film-maker, who has talked to Mahesh Bhatt's production company and would begin work as soon as the islands become more accessible, said the film will talk of the miracles and also the survivors who are fighting back.

Lal said it could be a documentary or even a television serial. The idea, he added, is to create a grim reminder for the
future generations of the magnitude of the devastation.

Pegged as a small budget film, the movie will be ready in next three months, Lal, who has earned rave reviews for his film on the tribals of the Andamans, said.
