The Patna high court on Friday granted bail to controversial Rashtriya Janata Dal MP Mohammed Shahabuddin in connection with the abduction and murder of Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) leader Munna Choudhury.
Shahabuddin was recently shifted to Beur Jail in Patna from Siwan following the Election Commission's directive.
According to the EC, his presence in Siwan, which he represents in the Lok Sabha, would have affected free and fair polls.
