The Madras high court on Friday granted anticipatory bail to Kanchi seer Jayendra Saraswati in a case relating to alleged tampering of the mutt's accounts.
But a sessions court adjourned to February 17 the seer's anticipatory bail application in connection with the Tirukoshtiur Madhavan assault case.

When the application came up before Principal Sessions Judge P Murugesan, the prosecution as well as the seer's counsel sought an adjournment.
The case relates to the assault on Madhavan, a priest, in Chennai in August 2004.
The seer is out on bail in the Sankararaman murder case and the Radhakrishnan assault case, in which he is the prime accused.
