Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh [Images] discussed the situation in Nepal and the upcoming South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation summit in Dhaka with former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Leader of the Opposition L K Advani in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The Bharatiya Janata Party leaders went to the prime minister's South Block office for the discussion following an invitation from Singh.

The discussions took place soon after a Union Cabinet meeting.

"It was a general discussion. We exchanged notes," Advani told media persons.

On whether the prime minister would not attend the SAARC summit, he said it was for the government to decide.
