Shivraj Singh Chouhan, chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, refused to discuss the CD issue in connection with Sanjay Joshi, Bharatiya Janata Party's general secretary who tendered his resignation from the post after the alleged release of an sexually explicit CD to mediapersons and senior leaders of the party.
When asked if he had got any report from the director general of police about the registration of a case against those who have engineered the conspiracy to malign Sanjay Joshi, Chouhan said he has not been able to find time to get feedback from the police chief.
Bangaru Lakshman, former president of the BJP, who was also a victim of a sting operation and was caught on camera defended Sanjay Joshi in an long chat with rediff.com. "I feel that this is the work of disgruntled elements. They could be anyone," he said.
He did not think that Uma Bharti could have stooped so low to hit out at Sanjay Joshi. "She believes in calling a spade a spade. She would not do something behind your back," he said.
Pramod Mahajan told a private television network he believes Sanjay Joshi would emerge stronger after the case is investigated. But majority of the leaders felt that the party should not have accepted the resignation of Sanjay Joshi and should have stood with him in his hour of crisis.
Rajat Sharma, owner of India TV channel, confirmed on his network that he has seen the controversial CD. "I have seen the CD and the impression I get is that it is Sanjay Joshi," he said while speaking on his channel.
