It has been little over two months since the devastating earthquake struck Pakistan and its surrounding areas, killing thousands and flattening villages in totality.
When most people had given up hope of extracting people alive from the mounds of rubble, a 40-year-old woman from Muzzafarabad in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, was rescued from her house on Monday.
A television report said that the woman, who remained buried under the rubble of her home since the October 8 earthquake, had been brought to a hospital in Muzaffarabad.
"She is unconscious and has been kept in the intensive care unit. We hope she will survive," the report said, quoting a doctor.
"She had been fighting with death in a dark cavity under the rubble. It is a miracle," the doctor said.
Officials were not immediately available to confirm the report but villagers who rescued the woman said that they found bits of rotten food from the spot. They also said that the woman probably survived on rain water.
