The court of the chief judicial magistrate in Jamui district in Bihar has issued an order to attach property of absconding former union minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal member of Parliament Jaiprakash Narain Yadav in the case of a non-bailable arrest warrant against him .
Yadav, considered close to RJD chief and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, was forced to resign from the Manmohan Singh government in November.
A non-bailable warrant was issued against him for securing illegal release of his brother and RJD nominee Vijay Prakash from police custody. His anticipatory bail application was rejected by a court in Jamui and later by the Patna high court.
An arrest warrant was issued against him after the incident but he has yet to surrender.
The CJM court order has come on a day when the Patna high court reserved its order on the criminal writ petition of absconding Jaiprakash Narain Yadav, challenging the issuance of non-bailable arrest warrant against him by a court in Jamui, for a future date.
Last week, the police raided the minister's house twice and some also other places under Barhat police station in Jamui to arrest him in the light of an observation made by the Jamui court.
