Russia gets $10,000 annual grant to promote Indology

India will provide an annual grant of $ 10,000 to Russia for the promotion of Indology for the next three years.

The announcement was made by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at a meeting in Moscow Monday evening with select Russian academics involved in Indian studies.

"The grant will be made available to the Russian scholars for the next three years," Indian ambassador Kanwal Sibal said.
