The Election Commission on Thursday ordered the transfer of 3 district magistrates in Bihar for their 'very poor' performance with regard to the preparation of electoral photo identity cards.

The EC has also ordered the immediate suspension of officers-in-charge of 3 police stations in the state capital for concealing information on the non-bailable warrants pending with them for execution.

Chief Election Commissioner B B Tandon, while addressing a crowded press conference, said the EC had ordered the transfer of the DMs of Supaul, Nalanda and Khagaria in the state and that they had sought a panel of names from the state for replacing the DMs.

"You will get to know about it once the names are approved by us for appointment," he said.

Tandon and the other election commissioners, N Gopalaswami and Navin Chawla, met different political party representatives and police officials on Thursday to know their views.
