Sri Lanka's new Foreign Minister Anura Bandaranaike will undertake his first mission abroad with a visit to India on Thursday to hold talks with its leadership.
Bandaranaike is visiting on the invitation of the Indian government and will call on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and other leaders, officials said on Tuesday.
Bandaranaike, 56, was named the foreign minister after assassination of Lakshman Kadirgamar by suspected Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam rebels.
