The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday decided to move an amendment to its adjournment motion to discuss the role of Bihar Governor Buta Singh.
Instead, the party will seek a discussion on Rashtriya Janata Dal president Lalu Prasad Yadav's claim that Buta Singh was his choice.
Addressing a news conference in New Delhi, Vijay Kumar Malhotra said since Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee expressed his inability to admit discussion against governor, the party decided to attack Lalu instead.
Lalu, in an interview to a private television channel, had said about Buta Singh, "He was my choice."
"We are in the process of drafting the adjournment motion and this would be taken up on Tuesday," he said.
And if the speaker does not allow the discussion, Malhotra said 'there would be uproar in the house".
According to party managers, speakers would attack Buta Singh for writing a letter to Lalu recommending a plum posting for two officers in the railways.
"There is a fit case to recall Buta Singh," Malhotra said.
Congress spokesperson Anand Sharma rubbished the claim.
"As far as the Congress is concerned, the governor is the appointee of the President of India," he said.
