The protests by Sikhs against the Action Taken Report on Nanavati Commission findings continued on Wednesday with the Delhi unit of the Akali Dal (Badal) taking out a march in Delhi demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Minister Jagdish Tytler.
The march, which started from the historic Bangla Sahib Gurdwara, with hundreds of Akali Dal supporters and 1984 anti-Sikh riot victims shouting slogans, was stopped at Jantar Mantar, senior Akali leader Kuldeep Singh Bhogal said.
"We had intended to gherao the Parliament, but the protestors were stopped at Jantar Mantar. Akali Dal General Secretary Onkar Singh Thapar, Delhi unit President Avtar Singh Hitt and hundreds of others were arrested," Bhogal said.
The protestors continued their demonstration at Jantar Mantar, dubbing the ATR as an "eyewash" and shouted slogans against the Congress government. They demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Minister Jagdish Tytler.
Earlier, Bhogal claimed that the police lathicharged some riot victims who were coming from Dhaula Kuan to Bangla Sahib for the march and a few were injured.

However, police denied using any force on them.
Various Sikh organisations are protesting against the government's ATR on Nanavati Commission on anti-Sikh riots of 1984, which said it would not proceed against Union Minister Jagdish Tytler as the panel said he was "probably" involved in the incidents.
