Senior Janata Dal-Secular leader and minister M P Prakash on Wednesday took over as leader of the JD-S legislature party succeeding rebel leader and Deputy Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Prakash was formally chosen as the JDSLP leader at a meeting of party legislators convened by the state unit president N Thipanna who announced his election.
At a meeting held over dinner on Monday, the JD-S legislators had decided to remove Siddaramaiah as JDSLP leader and elect Prakash in his place.
